Systems View- a conspectus

The ushering in of the new
millennium enables us to assert that a significant breakthrough
in the evolution of human consciousness has occurred since the
turn of the past century. This breakthrough is nothing but the
gradual emergence of a virtually irreversible paradigm shift from
the narrow mechanistic (reductionistic) view of reality to a
broader organismic (systems or integrative) view of reality. This
new vision of reality of the universe and humankind's place in
it, has emerged from a variety of disciplines viz., metaphysics,
quantum mechanics and the neurosciences. This is based on the
awareness of the essential interrelatedness and interdependence
of all phenomena - physical, biological, psychological, social
and cultural, transcending the traditional disciplinary and
conceptual boundaries. The new 'science of reality' ushered in by
this paradigm shift will be the bedrock on which will rest the
cultural, social and spiritual transformation of humankind that
is destined to occur in the new millennium. Consequently, the
redesigning of conceptual models for social, educational,
political and economic restructuring based on this contemporary
view of the universe, will be the central challenge facing
humankind during the early decades of the new millennium.
Programs offered by the CPLA are based on the philosophical and
theoretical framework derived from this Systems View of
reality.

| Symbolism in the LOGO: The logo is derived from ANISA®
a root word that refers to a flowering and fragrant tree
representing the "Tree of Life,” an ancient Greek symbol
and also the “Tree of Life” (the ”Cosmic
Tree”) referred to in the Bhagavad Gita, one of the sacred
Hindu Scriptures, (Ch. XV:1) connoting beauty, grace and
nurturance. The three main branches represent the symbiotic
relationship of the body, mind and spirit in the actualization of
human potential and the promotion of true learning. |
